Fellows
Dylan Gilbert and Aliyah Dalier,
APTEC-Sekisui Fellows
APTEC Fellows perform research that is directly useful to industrial clients and is usually funded by grants from industry. In this way, students apply their research skills to science in an industrial setting while answering questions for industry in a cost effective manner. The research can be done on any APTEC-affiliated campus or at the sponsoring company.
APTEC's first two Research Fellows, sponsored by SEKISUI , are Dylan Gilbert and Aliyah Dalier, both of Southeastern Louisiana University. Their research uses a single capillary viscometer to measure the viscosity of polyvinyl alcohol in various solvents, to obtain hydrodynamic volume and determine which solvents are better for these polymers. This work was presented at the 2019 APTEC Student-led Meeting and as the work proceeds, a presentation is planned for the 94th Annual Meeting of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences.
