Wilmer G. Miller Award in Biopolymer Science
APTEC's Wilmer G. Miller Award honors a faculty-student or faculty-postdoc team for research in biopolymers, biosimilar polymers or related systems. Dr. Leah Johnson and her advisor, Prof. Carmen Scholz, joined together to investigate the diffusion of a synthetic polypeptide by NMR methods. The work led to the first PhD awarded at the UAH in Chemistry. Each awardee will receive a cash award to further their careers in any way they see fit.
